INTRODUCTION
Advanced Ultrasonic Range Finder is a module to measure distance by way of the time difference between sending out and receiving ultrasonic. It is a non-contact measure range finder and no light is emitted to interfere other robots. The following picture is the real module.
Features
1. Standard JoinMax RCU universal 4-line interface, compatible 2-line I2C interface, giving facility for the user's DIY extension usage.
2. Measure the distance precisely since it doesn't touch the object.
3. Valid in a length of 3cm - 300cm.
4. The longer distance being measured, the faster RCU indicator light flashes.
Usage Introduction
1. Notice
1) DO NOT touch the ultrasonic probe with hand or others to avoid damage.
2) Install the module correctly to make sure the ultrasonic form a right angle with the measured object, so as to operate a precise measuring.
3) Return value "888" for not in valid range; "999" for abnormal hardware connection.
2. Module Installing
Connect the Ultrasonic range finder to a free port of the JoinMax robot controller kit. Beware the black wire should be near the margin.
3. Module Usage
Firstly, please make sure that the current RoboExp software is 3.0 version or up, and the module library 3.04 or up, otherwise, there is no such a module for the ultrasonic range finder. User can get relative upgrading information in our website.
In the software, drag the icon of the ultrasonic range finder, set the corresponding parameters (i.e. the hardware name, return variable, etc) according to the description of the module icon, and the module is ready for use. Beware that the return variable type is "unsigned int". The sample program can be found in "V301\Robots\Rcu30\Examples\Other\Ultrasoundtest\Ultrasoundtest.rcu" of the installing directory of the "RoboExp" disk.
For those users who do not use our module library, BE-6300 ultrasonic range finder supply them with standard I2C interface. The module address is 0x04. User can read the current measured value by way of MASTER READ according to the I2C protocol.
